Stop
And smell the flowers
Breathe in the morning fragrance
Let the soft blue and white fluff in the skies
Play on your senses…
Taste the golden sunlight at noon
Gliding along , spreading itself out
Tantalising and smooth in its flow
Let the warmth touch you…
The cuckoo sings all day
A happy song, clucking away
Calling out, singing its love songs
Let its song reach your heart…
The mighty kite soars the skies
The pigeons throng your windowsill
The magpies chirp along …
An orchestra of sounds…
Late afternoon it rumbles
Gold dust to purple hue and then grey
The skies growls and grumbles
The droplets come down
Cooling into a soft drizzle…
All evening
Lightning flashes, trees sway
It thunders away , pouring its heart out
Let the rain splash over you…
The Night calms into serenity
The city lights distant but bright
The air clear, Peace descends
Let the quiet soothe you…
Life boils over …
As I cut the cauliflower into neat little florets
Putting the spices together…
The whiff of a hungry aroma…
When was the last time
You inhaled “Life” in,
Savouring it with all your senses?
Let it sweep all over you
When was the last time
That you could feel
The morning giving away to noon
And the evening into night…
How beautiful is it
When one falls in pace
With nature, not to race with it
But to fall in step together
Let its rhythm carry you….
