Ekdalia Rd was never just a restaurant.
This cute little boutique outlet was a foodie’s retreat. And eating there was an experience to cherish.
You were served with the finest delicacies, a lot of it experimental blending continental fare with locally available produce.
But what made Ekdalia Rd stand out was its incredible team spearheaded by its owners Surojit Routh and Rakhee Ghosh.
This husband wife duo works as a perfect team.
If Surojit is the perfect culinary brain whose passion is food and experimental food at that, Rakhee is the perfect administrator and public relations persona.
The Ekdalia Rd experience is replete with their personalised attention, from menu planning and choosing the items to service not only with a smile but with so much gracious warmth that it stays far beyond that meal experience
So when Ekdalia Rd opened up its Takeaway post Lockdown, I just had to place my order.
And Service with a smile it was.
Delivered straight to my home
It helps that they have done some stellar catering at my home on a few previous occasions and are super familiar with the directions.
So it was a Sunday treat of the most delicious and finely balanced grilled prawns tossed in the piquant chimichuri flavour along with herbed pasta in white sauce and grilled snapper and grilled chicken in lemon butter sauce.
The pasta was perfect, neither too creamy nor dry and finely herbed.. Both grilled fish and grilled chicken were delicious and prawns were delicate and they could almost melt in your mouth.
All of this was accompanied with grilled vegetables and herbed rice.
And then for sweet endings we had t Lemon tarts and chocolate brownie.
For the record theirs is one the lightest, fluffiest and most chocolicious brownies in town.
